The Presidential Transition Council has announced a world press conference to detail the activities of the May 29 inauguration ceremony.
Boss Mustapha, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation communicated this information in a press statement on May 16, 2023.
Announced by the Permanent Secretary, of the Federal Ministry of Information and Culture, Mrs. Lydia Shehu Jafiya, who also doubles as the chairperson of the Media and Publicity subcommittee of the Presidential Transition Council, the World Press Conference is scheduled to take place by 2. pm on Thursday, 18th May 2023, at the Rotunda hall, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Tafa Balewa way, Central Business District, Abuja.
Among the invitees to the conference are Chairmen and members of various subcommittees of the council, Civil Society Organisations, the Media, and other Stakeholders.
The 22-man Presidential Transition Council which was inaugurated by the Federal Government in line with Executive Order No.14 of 2023 has among others its Term of References (ToRs), facilitating the handing over process from the current President to the President-elect.
Its functions also include coordinating the briefing of the President-elect by relevant public officers; preparing the program, organizing the swearing-in ceremony, and performing other functions assigned to it by the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria as amended.
