Popular Nigerian musician, Teniola Apata professionally known as Teni Makanaki recounted the devastating story about her father’s assassination when she was just two years old during an interview.
She spoke about her father, late Brigadier-General Simeon Apata‘s popularity in their neighborhood and the role he played to keep it safe.
She disclosed these in an interview with Tea With Tay Podcast.
When asked what her father was famous for, she responded saying, “My father was a disciplinarian, a soldier, and a philanthropist. He sent many people to school, provided homes, and changed numerous lives.”

She further revealed after Tay asked, “How old were you when this happened?”
The No Days Off crooner said, “I was only 2 years old.”
Teni’s father, Simeon Apata, was a prominent politician and businessman in Nigeria. His tragic assassination occurred in 1995 when Teni was just a toddler. She, her mother, and her siblings were present during this event.
