Snakes have overtaken a school which Senator Ademola Adeleke rehabilitated and abandoned in the Southwest state of Osun.
According to transparency platform, Tracka, the senator representing Osun West Senatorial District nominated the project in the 2017 Zonal Intervention Projects.
The sum of N50 million was awarded for the renovation of the school, Orile-Owu High School, Orile-Owu, Ayedaade LGA.
Although the project was handled by Universal Basic Education Commission and contracted to Akinkas Interbiz Limited, only three classrooms have been completed, the laboratory and other departments look rather dilapidated.
Pictures by Tracka showed completed classrooms that were locked up and not in use by students.
The transparency platform also reckoned that for N50 million the dilapidated science laboratory should have renovated as well.

In a bid to understand why the projects were abandoned half way, Tracka tweeted at the senator. “The N50m rehabilitated blocks of 3 classrooms at Orile-Owu high school, Orile- Owu, Ayedaade LGA, Osun West Senatorial District. Still under lock and key despite its completion.
Dear Sen @IsiakaAdeleke1, Snakes has taken over Orile- Owu high school, Orile- Owu, Ayedaade LGA, Osun West Senatorial District. The N50m allocated in 2017 would have been enough to renovate both the 3 classrooms and the dilapidated science laboratory. pic.twitter.com/RwkVW0PbXx

The Tracka team held a town hall meeting to enlighten residents before inspecting the classroom. “The Tracka team held a town hall meeting with the elders and residents of Orile Owu community in Osun state on the 27th July 2018, on the dilapidated state of Orile high school, where snakes now live as their permanent home.
