The Federal Government will release N174 million to 28 tertiary institutions through the Tertiary Education Trust Fund for the acquisition of furniture, books, and ICT equipment.
The Education Support Services of TETFund highlighted in a document that it had previously disbursed N1.6bn to 44 institutions for the acquisition of the same resources.
The N174m will be available in the second part of 2023.
According to reports, the Department of Education Support Services was established to administer and implement some of the TETFund’s academic content-based intervention programs in the country’s public tertiary institutions.
According to the TETFund’s description of the fourth tranche of payment, N46.5 million will be distributed to five universities, N34.5 million to seven polytechnics, and N93 million to 16 colleges of education.
Furthermore, the agency stated that in order to support the implementation of the Higher Education Book Development Programme, it formed a group TETFund Board comprised of 99 academics led by Prof. Charles Aworh.
