Nigeria announces 667 new coronavirus cases

Lassa fever claims 162 lives - NCDC

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has announced 667 confirmed new coronavirus cases in the country on Friday.

The 667 cases announced by the Centre for Disease Control takes the total number of confirmed cases to 19147.

The NCDC also announced the discharge of 274 patients from isolation centers across the country with 12 new deaths reported.

Lagos state, the epicentre of the virus in Nigeria topped the number of confirmed cases with 281 new cases taking the total number of confirmed cases in Lagos alone to 7897.

Abia state recorded 48 new cases, Oyo recorded 45 new cases while the Federal Capital Territory reported 38, Ogun reported 37, Enugu 31, Ondo 23 and Plateau 21.

Other states are Edo-19, Delta-18, Rivers-18, Bayelsa-17, Akwa Ibom-17, Kaduna-14, Kano-12, Bauchi-9, Gombe-4, Osun-3, Benue-3, Nasarawa-3, Kwara-3, Ekiti-2 and Borno-1

NCDC reports that there are 19147 cases of COVID-19 in Nigeria with 6581 discharged and 487 deaths.
