    Nigeria announces 594 new coronavirus cases

    The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has announced 594 confirmed new coronavirus cases in the country on Thursday.

    The 594 cases announced by the Centre for Disease Control takes the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases is now put at 22614.

    The NCDC also announced the discharge of 209 patients from isolation centers across the country with seven new deaths reported.

    Lagos state, the epicentre of the virus in Nigeria topped the number of confirmed cases with 159 new cases taking the total number of confirmed cases in Lagos alone to 9482.

    • Nigeria announces 452 new coronavirus cases

    Delta state recorded 106 new cases, Ondo reported 44 new cases while FCT, Edo, Oyo and Kaduna recorded 34, 34, 33 and 33 new cases respectively.

    Other states are Enugu-28, Katsina-25, Imo-22, Adamawa-15, Ogun-12, Osun-11, Abia-8, Rivers-6, Nasarawa-5, Bauchi-5, Niger-5, Kebbi-4, Ekiti-3, Plateau-1 and Taraba-1.

    NCDC reports that there are 22,614 cases of COVID-19 in Nigeria with 7822 discharged and 549 deaths.
