Civil servants working for the Lagos State Government have withdrawn from the Nigeria Labour Congress’ (NLC) two-day warning strike.

The NLC has stated that if the Federal Government does not relieve the suffering of the people, it will go on an indefinite strike after a two-day nationwide warning strike starting on Tuesday and Wednesday.

The proposed warning strike has been abandoned by the Trade Union Congress (TUC).

Since they are TUC members, the civil servants of Lagos State have chosen not to participate in the strike.

All of its members were advised not to go on strike on Tuesday in a statement released by the Lagos State Branch of the Association of Senior Civil Servants of Nigeria (ASCSN).

    • Ondo civil servants maternity leave extends to six months

The proposed 2-day strike is stated in the statement that the organization’s secretary, Aladetan Abiodun, signed.

“This is to advise all members of the Lagos State Branch of the Association of Senior Public Servants of Nigeria that no TUC affiliates will be participating in the proposed strike planned for Tuesday, September 5, 2023.

“We urged all of our members to conduct themselves as usual.”
