Reno Omokri has claimed that there was more to Bobrisky's prison sentence

Reno Omokri, a former aide to ex-president Goodluck Jonathan, has berated the constant blaming of President Bola Tinubu over the economic hardship in Nigeria.

Omokri, in a statement on his verified X page on Friday, noted that while the economic woes in the country persist, Tinubu has doubled the federal allocation to state governments in a bid to ameliorate the hardship at state levels.

Omokri also disclosed that while Tinubu is accused of doing nothing to help Nigerians combat the rising prices of commodities in the country, “there is no federal civil servant on minimum wage who is not collecting an extra ₦35,000 on top of their salary as wage support, courtesy of Tinubu.”

Omokri urged Nigerians to hold their governors responsible for the lack of incentives at state levels rather than blame Tinubu.

Omokri’s statement reads, “The challenge is that many Nigerians do not know their problem. You are there, saying the price of everything has doubled and Tinubu is doing nothing. But there is no federal civil servant on minimum wage who is not collecting an extra ₦35,000 on top of their salary as wage support, courtesy of Tinubu.

“Meanwhile, since subsidy removal, your state has been collecting double the federal allocation it used to get. A state like Nasarawa is collecting almost triple. Their wage bill remains the same. What has your governor done for state civil servants? No wage support. No palliative. And then, rather than face your governor, you are facing Tinubu. Ignorance is your challenge.

“A primary school roof collapsed on some pupils some days ago, and Nigerians faced Tinubu. A whole dean of the faculty of law at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, could not get water at an affordable cost and blamed Tinubu. This is a woman who is meant to be teaching constitutional law to upcoming lawyers.

“Do you know that the Constitution places primary and secondary education, as well as the provision of pipe-borne water for non-agricultural purposes, under your state government? But some of you don’t even know your governor, senator, representative, or LGA chairman’s name. The only name you know in government is Tinubu!
