According to the Kano State Governor, Gov. Abba Kabir Yusuf, the mode of distribution of the federal government’s N500 billion palliatives for small-scale industries in the country is not fair to the North.
Speaking through his deputy, Comrade Aminu Abdussalam in Kano yesterday, the Governor claimed the distribution favored Lagos State and the South-South zone.
Through the Bank of Industry, the federal government pledged support for small-scale industries throughout geopolitical zones.
According to the governor, according to the mode of distribution of the palliative fund, Lagos would receive 47%, the South-South will receive 17%, and other regions will receive lower amounts, according to the deputy governor’s press secretary, Ibrahim Shu’aibu.
Governor Yusuf stated at a meeting with Kano Cooperative Society representatives at Government House in Kano that the palliative distribution is unjust, unconstitutional, and illegal.
He requested the National Assembly and other relevant authorities to punish those responsible while also correcting the situation.
