Bobrisky bags six months imprisonment for Naira abuse

The Federal High Court in Lagos has sentenced controversial cross-dresser and social media celebrity Idris Okuneye, popularly known as Bobrisky, to six months imprisonment.

Justice Abimbola Awogboro of the Federal High Court, Lagos, said in her sentence that the judgement will serve as a deterrent to others who are fond of abusing and mutilating the Naira.

Idris Okuneye bagged a six-month sentence without the option of a fine.

The controversial celebrity has been in the custody of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) since his arrest last week.

The EFCC arrested him for abusing the local currency.

On April 5, Bobrisky pleaded guilty to a four-count charge of naira abuse brought against him by the anti-graft agency.
