A former aide to ex-president Goodluck Jonathan, Reno Omokri, has condemned the backlash he received from Nigerians over his patronage of made-in-Nigeria shoes. The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has rejected the Labour Party’s leadership’s claim on Tuesday that its President, Joe Ajaero, had a deal with the ruling All Progressives Congress to undermine the Labour Party. The executive governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has closed down Dosunmu Market in Lagos Island after a fire incident on Tuesday. No fewer than 14 buildings were gutted by the fire, and four structures collapsed as a result of the incident on Tuesday. Bandits reportedly killed two farmers who were evicted from their ancestral houses in the Umogidi village of the Entekpa Council Ward in Benue State’s Otukpo Local Government Area. Two more people were alleged to have been injured, while another was kidnapped by the bandits in a second onslaught. Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu, the former Minister of Science and Technology in the cabinet of ex-president Muhammadu Buhari, has died. Onu, a former governor of Abia State, died of a brief illness in an unidentified hospital in Nigeria.
