NNPC denies ending naira-for-crude deal with Dangote refinery

By 2023, Nigeria will no longer import petroleum products, according to Mele Kyari, Group Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited. Kyari made this announcement on Tuesday, at a press conference held at the state house in Abuja, highlighting that the NNPC had the entitlement to 20% of production from the Dangote refinery during the weekly Ministerial Briefing, which was held at the Presidential Villa in Abuja and hosted by the Presidential Communication Team. At least 19 people were killed and 21 others injured after police in Madagascar’s south-eastern town of Ikongo opened fire on a group of people who were angered by the kidnapping of a child with albinism. Those injured in the Monday incident are receiving treatment at the local hospital, the police said. Borno state government has launched an ambitious school enrolment programme for thousands of children displaced by the Boko Haram jihadist insurgency.
