The Ebonyi State Police Command on Friday arrested a 22-year-old rape suspect, Miracle Onwe, an indigene of Ezzamgbo in Ohaukwu LGA of the state. The Commissioner of Police, CP. Aliyu Garba, who spoke to journalists in Abakaliki, through the Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, SP Chris Anyanwu, said the suspect was arrested through the efforts of Ekumaenyi Police Division, Akeaba, led by the Divisional Police Officer, Ayo Mustapha. A self-styled Ugandan prophet has been charged with assault, common assault and trafficking in persons. Prophet Kintu Dennis of Hoima Empowerment Church International was seen in a widely shared online video flogging members of his church. Police arrested the 42-year-old on Wednesday this week along with four other members of the church following complaints about the video. An explosion tore through a crowded mosque in western Afghanistan on Friday, killing at least 18 people. including a prominent cleric close to the Taliban, Taliban officials and a local medic said. The Lagos State Police Command has arrested popular musician and rapper, Ice Prince, for allegedly assaulting a police officer. The singer was arrested in the early hours of Friday, according to the command’s Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin.
