The families of four newborn babies have been thrown into mourning after their children died due to alleged negligence on the part of the doctor on duty at the Sapele Central Hospital, in the Sapele Local Government Area of Delta State. Although they lamented there was no power supply in the hospital, the victims’ families alleged the doctor on duty was drunk. The Rivers State police have said its operatives rescued 15 children who were kidnapped within and outside the state and kept in the house of a fake Reverend Sister in Aluu, Ikwerre Local Government Area of the state. Landslides triggered by heavy rains have killed at least 15 people – mostly women and children – in Kasese, in western Uganda. Some homes were also washed away by flood waters that tore through the area located on the foothills of the Rwenzori mountains.
