A Federal High Court, Abuja, has granted a prayer by the Department of State Services (DSS) to detain the former terrorists’ negotiator, Tukur Mamu, for 60 more days. Justice Nkeonye Maha, in a short ruling on the ex-parte motion moved by counsel for the DSS, Ahmed Magaji, granted the motion as prayed. Violent obaship tussle in Agosasa, Ipokia Local Government area of Ogun state has seen no fewer than three persons killed over who becomes the next monarch of the town. The Court of  Appeal, FCT Abuja Division, on Tuesday, reserved judgement in the appeal brought before it by the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, seeking dismissal of the remaining seven-count charge filed against him by the Federal Government. Nigerian President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd), on Tuesday, commissions the 36km dual carriageway of Owerri-Orlu road in Imo State. Buhari was earlier welcomed at the airport by the state governor, Hope Uzodimma, and other dignitaries dressed in white outfits and red caps. Some residents of Lagos State lamented the impact of heavy rainfall and the attendant floods that affected several parts of Nigeria’s commercial centre on Monday. The early morning rainfall, which lasted about four hours, caused floods in many Lagos communities and forced motorists and road users to wade through gridlock and flooded roads to get to their respective destinations and handle their businesses. The Liberian senate has confirmed Justice Sie-A-Nyene Gyapay Yuoh as the new chief justice. She replaces Francis Saye Korkpor who retires this month after reaching the constitutional limit of 70 years.
