The Federal Government has said the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) is not exempted from enrolling on the Integrated Payroll and Personnel Information System (IPPIS) platform. The government made the clarification in a statement issued by the Minister of Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige, in Abuja on Saturday. Official figures published on Saturday by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) indicates that Nigeria has entered its second recession in five years. The figures further reveal that the economy shrank again in the third quarter of this year. It was gathered that this year’s recession, occasioned by the economic fallout of the COVID-19 pandemic, is worse than that of 2016.
