    COVID-19: Kwankwaso donates 60-bed hospital

    A former governor of Kano state senator Rabiu Kwankwaso on Monday donated Amana Hospital to the Kano State Government to help in the fight against COVID-19.

    A statement by his media aide, Saifullahi Hassan, explained that the gesture by Senator Kwankwaso was his contribution to assist the “management committee overcome this epidemic”.

    “His Excellency Engr. Dr Kwankwaso has contributed Amana Hospital to the Kano State Government to aid the Covid-19 Management Committee overcome this epidemic.

    The statement explained that, “Amana Hospital is newly built, fully equipped with 60-beds capacity, completed last month and it has not yet been commissioned.

    Adding that, “It is located in Miller Road, Bompai, Kano State.”

    As at Sunday night, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) and the Kano State Ministry of Health said the state had 36 coronavirus cases.

    Only Lagos, the epicentre of the virus in Nigeria and the Federal Capital Territory have more cases than Kano.
