Kano confirms first death, 5 more coronavirus cases
The Kano State Government has reported an additional five coronavirus cases that was not captured by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) late Wednesday night.
According to the Kano State Ministry for Health twelve new cases were confirmed on Wednesday but the NCDC reported 16.
Disclosing the update via its official Twitter account, the ministry said: “Wednesday, 15th April 2020. As at 11:55 pm, 1 death of #COVID19 has been recorded.”

On Twitter, Marion Gee replied the health ministry’s tweet with “Apparently NCDC did not include the 5 earlier reported” and the ministry replied with “Sure”.
Governor Abdullahi Ganduje has imposed a total lockdown in the state for one week.
According to him,this is a complete lockdown of the state, where there is no market, no social activities, no mosque, no church and people should stay at home.
He urged residents to cooperate and support this decision, as a measure to prevent the spread of this dreaded COVID-19 in the state.
