Is this the end of Christmas in Nigeria’s Aso Villa?

I stumbled on a video and some pictures of the Christmas Carol organized by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo at the Aso Villa Chapel on Tuesday, and I thought to myself, how beautiful? It was not only scenic, but it mirrors the moment that we are in. It was very Christmasy, to say the least. Nathaniel Bassey ministered, and you could feel the presence of the Holy Spirit, then it hit me, is this the end of Christmas in the Aso Villa? Will the Chapel be shut down if a Muslim-Muslim ticket ever wins? Will Christmas be banished for eight years, or 16 years, or even longer?

I pray that Nigerians open their eyes and see the danger that is looming. There is no standing on the sidelines as this heinous plan to rid Nigeria of one religion thickens, the future of Christians is in their hands. They will determine if they want the Christmas tradition that has been in the Aso Villa to continue or if they want an end to Christmas. What will a Muslim-Muslim ticket mean to Christians during Christmas? It looks gloomy, very gloomy.

There will be no Christmas tree in the highest office in Nigeria, there will be no representation of what this period stands for and what it means to more than half of the Nigerian population, and it could possibly be banned across the country, who knows? If ever Tinubu is elected President, he will seek to complete two terms irrespective of his health, and his deputy, a fundamentalist and documented advocate for terrorism, Kashim Shettima will seek to succeed him.

With eight years to perpetuate their Muslim agenda, who says that they won’t do 18 years of Muslim-Muslim rule in Nigeria? If they can succeed in eight years they will end up achieving their goal of Islamizing Nigeria. Some people will argue that this is not possible and I laugh at their ignorance. They will cite Buhari’s administration as an example, well, Buhari could not because he had a Christian VP and a pastor too.

Prof. Osinbajo ensured that the Chapel in the Aso Villa was active just like those before him. President Goodluck Jonathan worshipped there and so did Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, who will worship there if Nigerians ever vote for a Muslim-Muslim ticket? Maybe the plan is to break it down and convert it into a mosque or maybe it is to leave the building to rats and insects because they have no regard for any other religion of God.

Every Nigerian that has a PVC and who can vote irrespective of their religion should not allow this insensitive act by the All Progressives Congress to hold water. It is not an injustice to Christians but to Muslims too. Imagine Aso Villa without a Muslim as President or VP during the Ramadan. What will happen at Iftar?

I hope that the Aso Villa Christmas carol hosted by Osinbajo will not be the last for a very long time. Let us hope that voters are awake to the realities that stare them in the face and that they are aware of what the 2023 Christmas will look like. This article is not in a favour of any presidential candidate but in favour of candidates who have considered the fact that Nigeria is a multi-religious and multi-cultural society.

In 1993, when Nigerians elected MKO Abiola overwhelmingly, it was because we did not have Boko Haram running riots and bandits overpowering the army and police. We had a very united Nigeria and we had a healthy candidate in Abiola but that is not the case now. We don’t want a President that will be unaware of killings in Nigeria and who cannot grasp basic information.

Even worse is that we do not need a President that will make us say Muhammadu Buhari was better. That will be beyond scandalous. There are absolutely no words to describe and I hope that voters will put their plans to shame. We will all be held accountable for our votes whether we know it or not.
