The Osun state Police on Thursday, reported that they had apprehended three suspected kidnappers while they attempted to kidnap a businesswoman named Falilat Oyetunji, also known as “Ero Arike,” in the town of Iragbiji.

In a statement, a spokesman for the Osun Police, Yemisi Opalola stated that the suspects had made an attempt to forcibly kidnap Mrs. Oyetunji at her home.

According to information, three kidnappers were detained on Monday at around 5.45 p.m. when they attempted to abduct Mrs. Falilat Oyetunji, also known as “Ero Arike,” from her home in the Olorunda Temidire Area of Iragbiji.

However, early on Saturday, August 6, an informant went to Oyetunji to let her know that certain individuals, including her former employee, one Basiru from Iragbiji, were organising and planned to abduct her.

“Oyetunji arrived to alert the police about the plan, and agents from the Osogbo Anti Kidnapping Squad were given the task and monitoring was set up.

When the kidnappers carried out their plan on Wednesday, the informant was also requested to cooperate with them. Men from the Anti Kidnapping Squad sprang into action and apprehended the three suspects, while the driver of the car fled.

Two dane pistols, one long knife, and one Jack knife were found on the defendants who were taken into custody, according to Ms. Opalola.

According to her, one of the suspects cut himself with his knife in the stomach and was transported to Osun State Teaching Hospital Osogbo for treatment.

She added that the issue was still under investigation.
