Not less than five people have been killed by armed bandits in Madamai village in Kagoro Chiefdom, Kaura Local Government Area of Kaduna state.
Reports say that the assailants raided the community on Sunday during which nine houses were burnt down.
The attack was condemned by the Deputy Governor of Kaduna state, Dr Hadiza Balarabe, who described the act as barbaric.
She commiserated with the families of the deceased and also urged residents of the community not to retaliate.
She assured that security operatives will investigate the incident and bring the perpetrators to justice.
Less than 48 hours prior to the latest incident, bandits attacked some other communities in the state, killing eight and injuring many others.
Chronicle NG reported that the farmers were working on their farms when the bandits invaded their community.
