Nigeria announces 176 new coronavirus cases

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has announced 176 confirmed new coronavirus cases in the country on Tuesday.

The 176 cases announced by the Centre for Disease Control takes the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases to 57,613.

The NCDC also announced the discharge of 162 patients from isolation centers across the country with no new deaths reported.

Lagos state, the epicentre of the virus in Nigeria reported 73 new confirmed cases taking the total number of confirmed cases in Lagos alone to 19055.

Plateau state reported 50 new cases, Federal Capital Territory state recorded 17 and Rivers announced 8 new cases.

Other states are Ondo-6, Niger-5, Ogun-5, Edo-3, Kaduna-3, Oyo-2, Bauchi-1, Bayelsa-1, Delta-1 and Nasarawa-1.

NCDC reports that there are 57,613 cases of COVID-19 in Nigeria with 48,836 discharged and 1,100 deaths.
