Transparency platform Tracka has uncovered a substandard primary school classroom in Anchau Gari community, Kubau LGA, Kaduna state

Transparency platform Tracka has uncovered a substandard primary school classroom in Anchau Gari community, Kubau LGA, Kaduna state.
The yet to completed primary was awarded by State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) for an initial fee of N131 million .
A field visit to Anchau Gari community by Tracka’s inspection officer showed that the project contracted to Parkmore Nigeria Limited is not only substandard but a death trap.
According to a kinsman in Anchau, the contractors appear to have mixed the concrete used for building the school in Zaria before transporting it to Anchau.
Tracka discovered that the construction commenced on 1 May 2018 and has since abandoned for the past three weeks.
“The contractor is doing a shoddy job, we noticed that they bring mixed concrete to the site and then apply it to the building, the kinsman who craved anonymity told Tracka.
He explained that project which is expected to be completed in 32 weeks is nothing short of a ‘death trap’.

Contract has also been awarded for the school to be furnished with chairs, desks and benches by Global Dream House Furniture Limited. This project is expected to last 16 weeks.
Perplexed by the quality of work done by the contractor, Tracka appealed to Governor Nasir El-Rufai to intervene.
Speaking during an interview on a radio programme in Kaduna, Tracka begged the State Government and the Commissioner of Education to kindly intervene in the abysmal and tedious work done by the contractor.
The construction of a block of 24 classrooms includes offices and toilets.
