The executive Governor of Imo State, Gov. Hope Uzodinmahas offered Amnesty to bandits willing to give up their arms and turn a new leaf.
Governor Uzodinma called for peace and stability in the state during a meeting with traditional and community leaders at Eze Imo Palace, offering a good offer of rehabilitation to those willing to turn in their weapons through their traditional rulers.
Governor Uzodinma encouraged traditional rulers to make greater efforts to secure their villages and identify strangers who are causing problems.
He reaffirmed his government’s commitment to preserve Ndi Imo from the city to the countryside.
According to him, “Security is the business of every law-abiding citizen and all hands must be on deck for Imo to thrive”.
The Governor also informed them of the government’s initiatives and promises to mitigate the effects of the loss of fuel subsidies, which include a 40,000 Naira minimum salary hike, free Medicare, and one meal per day for Imo workers, among other things.
Uzodinma urged every Imo person to obtain a social security number, which will not only allow them to be identified but will also allow them to benefit from both state and federal government palliatives.
