President Bola Tinubu of Nigeria has called for a “full-fledged investigation” into the drone attack that killed at least 85 people in the northwest state of Kaduna.
Tinubu, in a statement on Tuesday, called for calm while authorities looked into the cause of the bombing mishap.
“The President directs a thorough and full-fledged investigation into the incident and calls for calm while the authorities look diligently into the mishap,” a statement by Tinubu’s spokesperson, Ajuri Ngelale said.
Adding that, “The president also directs swift and comprehensive medical attention for surviving victims while praying for the repose of the souls of the deceased.”
The president condoled with the government and people of Kaduna State, over the bombing mishap in a village at Tundun Biri in Igabi Local Government Area of the State.
He described the incident as very unfortunate, disturbing, and painful, expressing indignation and grief over the tragic loss of Nigerian lives.
