Tottenham Hotspur have secured the loan signing of 19-year-old French forward Mathys Tel from Bayern Munich until the end of the season, the Premier League club confirmed on Monday.
Mathys Tel, who joined Bayern from Stade Rennes in 2022, signed a contract extension until 2029 last year but has struggled to secure a regular starting spot.
Despite scoring 16 goals in 83 appearances for the German side, he has yet to find the net this season, having started just two Bundesliga matches and made six substitute appearances.
Reports suggest Spurs have an option to make the deal permanent in the summer.
Currently 14th in the Premier League, Tottenham face Liverpool in the second leg of their League Cup semi-final on Thursday, holding a 1-0 advantage from the first leg.
Manager Ange Postecoglou’s squad has been hit hard by injuries, with key players such as Guglielmo Vicario, Cristian Romero, Destiny Udogie, James Maddison, Wilson Odobert, Brennan Johnson, Timo Werner, and Dominic Solanke all sidelined.
