    Sol Campbell believes that adding Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen in January will add additional firepower to Arsenal’s roster and help them win the Premier League this season.

    After 12 games, Arsenal is third in the Premier League, tied with Liverpool on 27 points and one point behind Li.

    Given the team’s reliance on a small pool of strikers, Campbell has identified the striking department as an area in need of reinforcement.

    Arsenal have been connected with Napoli attacker Osimhen and Brentford’s Ivan Toney. Either of the two strikers will cost Arsenal a large sum to entice their respective teams to sell, and Campbell believes it is a deal the Gunners should consider.

    “Osimhen. But is he going to cost too much money? There’s Ivan (Toney). I think they’re good in other areas of the pitch. Center forward is one thing they might need to look at and see the possibilities, see what’s out there, or wait until next season,” Campbell said.

    “But if the right person comes along, an out-and-out striker that can unlock those tight games, knows what to do in those positions, and also keeps defense occupied to then free up other people, they should maybe look at it at Christmas time, and if not, definitely next season. The right person will offload the pressure on the team, I think.”

    This season, Gabriel Jesus, Eddie Nketiah, and Leandro Trossard have combined for 14 goals in various tournaments, but Campbell believes Arsenal needs a striker capable of consistently scoring 20 to 25 goals in a Premier League season.

    “In the end, they will have to decide by January whether they need a center forward. Twenty to 25 goals in the Premier League You know, in those big, tight games. I think it will help them,” Campbell said.

    “Is it always easy to find the right center forward? I think eventually, if they get someone like that, the right center forward to compliment the attack, you need them to be able to play to dislodge defenses. Some defenses understand your frequency, but you bring in another player to change that frequency, and other things happen. Bringing on someone really changes it up” Campbell added.

    Osimhen was the star of the show in Campania’s capital during their historic Scudetto triumph last season, scoring 26 goals and giving five assists in 32 league games.
