Former world number one Serena Williams has defeated Jessica Pegula 6-3, 6-4 to win her first WTA title since the Australian Open in 2017.
She also climbs up one spot in the rankings to number 9 and will be seeded eighth seed at the Australian Open later this month.
Serena, 38, won the ASB Classic sponsored ATP Auckland Open in straight set, her first title since she gave birth to her daughter Olympia in 2017.
The ASB Classic is her 73rd career title.
