Victor Osimhen’s agent, Roberto Calenda, is ready for another meeting with Napoli, according to an Italian website, TMW.
Osimhen‘s contract with the club expires in 18 months, but Aurelio De Laurentiis recently stated that a new deal was almost fully agreed upon.
The 24-year-old Nigerian striker was named African Men’s Footballer of the Year on Monday at a ceremony in Marrakech, Morocco, and returned to action for his club immediately, playing 69 minutes of their crucial Champions League match against Braga.
In the 33rd minute, the Nigerian striker scored his first goal of the competition and his seventh of the season overall.
Calenda was in the stands of the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona to watch Napoli’s win over Braga, according to TMW, and he is now expected to meet De Laurentiis.
The meeting could be a significant step forward for the Nigerian striker’s contract renewal, which has yet to be finalized despite the Napoli president’s claims earlier this month that the parties were at the “signing stage.”
Osimhen, the most exciting center forward available in the transfer market right now, is expected to command interest when the January transfer window reopens if his contract renewal falls through before next month.
