Kylian Mbappé’s sensational hat-trick propelled Real Madrid to a dominant 3-0 victory over Real Valladolid in La Liga, widening their lead at the top of the table to four points.
The result also marked Madrid’s seventh consecutive win against Valladolid without conceding, while title rivals Atlético Madrid stumbled for a second straight game.
Despite their status as underdogs, Valladolid started brightly and nearly stunned the visitors in the opening minutes. David Torres’ close-range header was brilliantly saved by Thibaut Courtois, who also tipped Mamadou Sylla’s effort wide shortly after.
At the other end, Antonio Rüdiger’s long-range strike forced Karl Hein into action, with the resulting corner ending in Aurélien Tchouaméni heading over.
Real Madrid eventually broke the deadlock on the half-hour mark when Mbappé combined brilliantly with Jude Bellingham before curling a superb effort into the far corner, giving Los Blancos a slim advantage at halftime.
Carlo Ancelotti’s side turned up the intensity after the break, and Mbappé doubled his tally before the hour. The French star latched onto Rodrygo’s pass and expertly slotted into the bottom corner, securing his seventh goal in five games and putting the match out of reach.
Madrid continued to dominate possession and nearly added a third when substitute Luka Modrić narrowly missed the target after a slick passing sequence.
In the dying moments, Valladolid’s Mario Martín, on loan from Madrid, conceded a penalty and was shown a second yellow card, reducing the hosts to 10 men. Mbappé coolly converted from the spot, completing his hat-trick (his first for the Los Blancos) and sealing the comprehensive win.
The victory extends Real Madrid’s remarkable away form, with just one loss in 26 matches, and strengthens their position in the title race.
Meanwhile, a third straight defeat leaves Valladolid rooted to the bottom of the table, five points adrift of safety.
