Barcelona have completed the signing of Marcus Rashford on a season-long loan from Manchester United, with the deal officially confirmed on Wednesday.
The 27-year-old England international was unveiled by the Spanish giants after negotiations with United advanced last week.
As part of the agreement, Barcelona hold an option to make the transfer permanent next summer for a reported €30 million (£26 million).
Rashford, who has taken a 25 per cent wage cut to facilitate the move, will have his salary fully covered by Barcelona during the loan spell. Reports suggest the forward has long harboured a desire to play for the Catalan club, making this move a personal milestone.
Rashford spent the second half of last season on loan at Aston Villa, having fallen out of favour at Old Trafford under manager Ruben Amorim. His departure appeared inevitable after his iconic number 10 shirt was reassigned to new signing Matheus Cunha.
For his stint at Barcelona, Rashford will wear the number 14 shirt.

However, there is a hurdle. Barcelona are currently unable to register the striker to play in LaLiga due to the league’s stringent financial regulations.
According to LaLiga’s rules, clubs “can only spend as much as they earn,” requiring Barça to generate new revenue streams or sell players before completing registration for new signings.
While he remains unregistered for competitive league matches, the England international is permitted to train with the squad and participate in non-competitive fixtures.
