RB Leipzig extended their lead at the top of the Bundesliga table to six points with an easy win at Freiburg.

Guinea midfielder Naby Keita had opened the scoring for Leipzig only for Florian Niederlechner to equalise for Freiburg.

Germany Under-21 striker Timo Werner scored two goals in the space of 14 first-half minutes as the visitors established a 3-1 interval lead.

Austria’s Marcel Sabitzer completed the scoring for away team, who have won four promotions in seven seasons.

Austria’s Marcel Sabitzer completed the scoring for Leipzig, who have won four promotions in seven seasons.

RB Leipzig were founded in 2009 and, with the backing of Red Bull, won four promotions in seven seasons to reach the top flight for the first time this year.

Last week, Bayern Munich lost their grip at the top of the table after losing to rivals, Borussia Dortmund.

The Munich giant can cut Leipzig’s lead to just three points if they beat Bayer Leverkusen on Saturday in a lunch time kick off.

Dortmund will look to bag back-to-back wins when they play Eintracht Frankfurt.
