Guinness World Records (GWR) has described Cristiano Ronaldo as the Greatest of All Time, GOAT, by responding to debate on social media posts with a GOAT emoji after he reached his milestone of 900 career goals.
Following his historic achievement, this understated honour highlighted his legendary reputation in football.
His 900th goal cemented his status in international men’s football and club competitions, surpassing competitors such as Lionel Messi and many others.
In a late X post on Thursday, Guinness World Records quoted a BBC post celebrating his historic new record, where it posted, “900 career goals for Cristiano Ronaldo. Incredible. #BBCFootball.”
Chronicle NG reports that the former Real Madrid talisman scored his 900th career goal during Portugal’s UEFA Nations League opener against Croatia.
The goal came in the 34th minute of the match when the Portuguese captain volleyed in a cross from Nuno Mendes, securing a 2-1 victory for Portugal.
This goal not only made Portugal win the game but also marked a historic moment for Ronaldo, making him reach 900 goals across his international and club career.
