Manchester United have reached an agreement with Chelsea to sign Mason Mount in a deal worth up to £60million
United had a third bid worth £55m rejected last week but have now agreed to pay an initial fee of £55m plus £5m in difficult add-ons.
Mount has been given permission to undergo a medical and finalise personal terms, with the clubs set to put the finishing touches to paperwork. He will sign a contract until 2028 at United, with the option for a further year.
Mount had a year left to run on his deal at Stamford Bridge but contract negotiations cooled and Chelsea were keen to comply with the England international’s wishes over a potential exit.
The 24-year-old is a product of the Chelsea academy and has made 195 appearances for the club since his first-team debut in 2017, scoring 33 goals.
