Manchester United’s three-game losing streak has come to an end after a hard-fought 1-0 victory at Burnley.

United are back on a winning run after a dismal performance at the Alianz Arena, where they were hammered 4-3 by Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich.

After some great work from Aaron Ramsey, Amdouni was clean through for Burnley shortly after. The hosts were gradually gaining a greater grip throughout the match.

Nonetheless, it was United who struck first. Jonny Evans found Bruno Fernandes with a pass more suited to the recipient, and the Portugal international rocketed past James Trafford with a Robin van Persie-style volley.

It was a game devoid of quality inside both penalty boxes, but Fernandes’ captain’s effort proved decisive and helped United break out of their slump. The pressure on everyone at Old Trafford can be relieved until next Saturday.

Erik Ten Haag introduced deadline-day signing Sofyan Amrabat two minutes from time. It was, however, far too late in the day for the Moroccan international to exert his influence.
