German league leaders Bayern Munich came from behind to rescue a point as Hoffenheim continued their unbeaten start to the Bundesliga season.

Bayern fell behind when Kerem Demirbay’s thundering shot left keeper Manuel Neuer rooted to the spot.

It required a slice of fortune for the hosts to equalise, Steven Zuber sending the ball into his own net attempting to clear Douglas Costa’s cutback.

RB Leipzig could draw level on points with Bayern on Sunday.

Leipzig, promoted to the top tier at the end of last season, have 21 points from nine games.

They will join Carlo Ancelotti’s side on 24 if they win at home to Mainz (14:30 GMT).

Hoffenheim, who started the weekend third in the table, are now unbeaten in their first 10 games of the league season under Julian Nagelsmann, who at 29 is the youngest coach in Bundesliga history.

Elsewhere, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang marked his return to the Borussia Dortmund side with four goals in a thumping win at bottom club Hamburg.

Aubameyang, 27, was dropped for Wednesday’s Champions League win over Sporting Lisbon for “internal reasons”.

He was recalled by Thomas Tuchel on Saturday and scored a 23-minute first-half hat-trick before adding a fourth shortly after half-time.

Ousmane Dembele also scored for Dortmund.

Both of Hamburg’s goals came from Nicolai Muller.

Gabon international Aubameyang now has 13 Bundesliga and Champions League goals for Dortmund this season.

The win lifted Dortmund to fifth in the table, six points behind leaders Bayern Munich, who were held to a 1-1 draw at home to Hoffenheim.

Hamburg have two points from 10 games.
