Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has stated that he is happy for Folarin Balogun after the academy graduate left the Gunners for Monaco this summer.
Balogun joined Arsenal when he was seven years old in 2008, but he departed earlier this week to pursue other chances.
Monaco agreed on a fee worth around £34 million for the USA striker, and Arteta believes it was the best decision for all sides.
“I am happy for him,” Arteta said.
“We did not have enough space in the squad to give him the minutes he needs.
“He has gone to a really good club with huge experience in developing talent.”
Last season, the 22-year-old had a productive loan spell at Reims, scoring 21 goals and taking fifth place in the battle for the Golden Boot.
