Dallas Wing guard Arike Ogunbowale has joined Caitlin Clark and A’ja Wilson in the top five votes for the 2024 WNBA All-Star Game.

Ogunbowale is one of the greatest players in the WNBA this season, and she has improved her game since her league debut, establishing herself as one of the competition’s leading scorers.

After the first round of fan voting,Ogunbowale, the three-time All-Star, 2021 AT&T WNBA All-Star Game MVP and the WNBA’s current No. 2 scorer sit in fifth place, having secured 130,838 votes.

Ogunbowale’s 2024 regular season stats includes; PTS: 25.4; REB: 4.4; AST: 5.0; STL: 2.9—make her a strong contender for the All-Star Game.

Two-time Kia WNBA MVP, five-time WNBA All-Star, and two-time WNBA champion A’ja Wilson of the Las Vegas Aces and 2024 No. 1 overall draft pick Caitlin Clark of the Indiana Fever are leading the polling.

The 2024 AT&T WNBA All-Star Game, which has already been declared a sellout at Phoenix’s Footprint Centre, home of the three-time WNBA champion Phoenix Mercury, will bring together the league’s best and brightest stars on Saturday, July 20.

The league’s 20th All-Star Game will pit the WNBA’s best players against one another in a matchup between the USA Basketball Women’s National Team All-Stars and the WNBA All-Stars chosen through a mix of fan, player, media, and coach votes.

Wilson, who leads the WNBA in scoring (27.9 ppg) and rebounding (11.3 rpg) this season, has received the most votes (217,773). Clark, who is 16th in the league in scoring (16.3 ppg) and third in assists (6.2 apg) and was named the Kia WNBA Rookie of the Month in May, is in second place with 216,427 votes.

Wilson and Clark are followed in the fan voting by 2023 Kia WNBA Rookie of the Year and 2023 WNBA All-Star Aliyah Boston of the Fever (171,864), two-time Kia WNBA MVP, and five-time WNBA All-Star Breanna Stewart of the New York Liberty (151,984).

The All-Stars are chosen by a mix of fan votes (50 percent), current WNBA players (25 percent), and a national panel of sportswriters and broadcasters (25 percent).

Following the initial voting session, which includes input from these three groups, the top ten vote-getters will be automatically named to the 2024 AT&T WNBA All-Star Game roster. Any top-ten vote-getter who has not yet been named to the USA Women’s National Team 5-on-5 roster will be assigned to Team WNBA.

The names of the next 36 highest vote-getters, including at least nine guards and 15 frontcourt players, will then be distributed to the 12 WNBA head coaches, who will vote to fill the remaining positions on the 12-player Team WNBA roster. Coaches will be unable to vote for their own players.

The 2024 AT&T WNBA All-Star Game rosters will be unveiled on Tuesday, July 2.
