Disengaged Ogun State Government workers have paid a courtesy visit to the palace of His Royal Highness, Oba Babatunde Adewale Ajayi, the Akarigbo and paramount ruler of Remo land.

The group congratulated the royal father on his ascension to the throne and thanked him for his timely interventions since he has been installed.

They also used the opportunity to congratulate Ogun governor-elect, Prince Dapo Abiodun, assuring him that they ready to serve in his government.

The workers who were sacked by Governor Ibikunle Amosun in 2011 briefed the Akarigbo of Remoland of their ordeal and pleaded with him to intervene in their matter.

Mr. Awolesi Samuel, president of the group, explained that they rallied support for Prince Abiodun and ruling All Progressives Congress during the just concluded elections, adding that, all members of the group delivered their polling units across Ogun state.

Thereafter they presented the royal father with a gift and a letter which was received by Mrs Bamidele Abiodun, on his behalf before reassuring them, that he will do his best to ensure that they reinstated back to active service.

“Kabiyesi has promised to present our matter before Prince Dapo Abiodun, the governor elect of Ogun state because we were wrongfully sacked,” Awolesi said.

He said they came to the paramount ruler in Remoland because he is a father of all and a true leader. “For us, Oba Babatunde Adewale Ajayi is a respected king in Yoruba land whose words are never underestimate. He is also a man of integrity and as his children we have come to him to wade into the matter.

“Although we are assured that Prince Dapo Abiodun will keep his promise, we just said we should mention it the Akarigbo of Remo as well.

“The governor-elect is a man that has succeeded in business and a man that is full of vision and whose ideas and initiatives will benefit the people of Ogun state. In fact, he is a reformer and his policies will transform Ogun state and put the state on the global map.

“We are ready to help implement the ideas and policies of the governor-elect and that is why we are asking to be reinstated into active service as well as unemployed among our members should be considered for employment in Ogun state.

He assured the governor-elect of their unflinching support as he is sworn-in on May 29 to begin his first term in office.
