    Police arrest dozens of IPOB/ESN members in Imo

    The Nigerian Police has arrested several Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB)/ Eastern Security Network (ESN) fighters in Imo state.

    The suspects were arrested after a foiled attack on Police stations in Omuma and Njaba towns.

    According to the police, they were able to gather information after arresting one Emmanuel Nnaji, a native of Awala in Ideato South Local Government Area.

    Nnaji was injured during a gunbattle and subsequently arrested. After a few hours of interrogation, he revealed the hideout of the assailants and their next targets.

    The young man disclosed that a hotel in Orlu was used a meeting point for IPOB fighters to plan destructive missions against government establishments, adding that hotel owner was complicit in their operations, assisting them with accommodations and finances.

    Twenty-six suspects – 19 males and seven females – were arrested during the raid of the location.

    One AK-47 rifle with two magazines loaded with 55 rounds of live ammunition, 5 pump action guns, 2 double barrel cut to size guns, 4 double barrel locally-made pistols were recovered.

    Others were 3 single barrel locally made pistols, 8 live cartridges, charms, 2 bags of weeds suspected to be Indian hemp, Biafran flag and beret, ESN cap, four pairs of army camouflage uniforms and a camouflage bag.

    Twenty-six suspects – 19 males and seven females – were arrested after he led security operatives to the location.

    One AK-47 rifle with two magazines loaded with 55 rounds of live ammunition, 5 pump action guns, 2 double barrel cut to size guns, 4 double barrel locally-made pistols were recovered.

    The severed head of a young man was found on the road close to the premises.

    Others were 3 single barrel locally made pistols, 8 live cartridges, charms, 2 bags of weeds suspected to be Indian hemp, Biafran flag and beret, ESN cap, four pairs of army camouflage uniforms and a camouflage bag.
