Remo Omokri, a former special assistant to former president Goodluck Jonathan, has lampooned Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party in the last presidential election, over comments he made during his press conference on Wednesday.

In a series of rhetorical questions posted on his verified X handle, Omokri berated Obi for questioning the veracity of President Bola Tinubu’s Chicago State University certificate.

Earlier, Chronicle NG reported that Peter Obi called on President Bola Tinubu to save Nigeria and himself from what he described as “protracted embarrassment and undue anxiety” over the controversy surrounding his Chicago State University (CSU) certificate

He was speaking in light of what has transpired recently, where a US court ordered the Chicago State University (CSU) to release the president’s academic records at the request of the People’s Democratic Party’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar.

Addressing a press conference in Abuja on Wednesday, Obi asked Tinubu to again tell Nigerians the schools he attended if he participated in the one-year National Youth Service Corps scheme.

He also asked him to clarify if he indeed changed his name at any time and save the country from what he called an international embarrassment of identity crisis.

Reacting to Obi’s speech, Omokri wrote, “A man who did not tender his degree certificate to INEC attacked a man who did.

“A man who was detained for identity issues at London’s Heathrow Airport accused another of disgracing Nigeria.

“A man who was cited for corruption by the Pandora Papers accusing another of being corrupt?

“Why is Peter Obi so blind to his own faults and laser focused on the alleged flaws of others?”
