The pastor of an undisclosed new generation church in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital, simply identified as Elijah, has been apprehended by the police for alleged homosexuality.

Chronicle NG gathered that the cleric whose church is on Eagle Island, Port Harcourt, landed in trouble after videos of him indulging in the act were leaked by a male whom he was trying to make out with.

It was gathered that the man who the pastor was making sexual advances to in a bid to gather evidence played along and captured the nude video of the cleric while romancing him and consequently demanded sex.

According to a source who spoke on the condition of anonymity, “We don’t know how the Octopus Strike Force of the Rivers State got the video and started trailing the pastor. The pastor is from Rivers State here.

“So, during the investigation, the officers acting on credible intelligence trailed the cleric to one of his relaxation spots and arrested him.”

During interrogation, the cleric reported giving helpful information to the police about his activities involving both male adults and minors within and outside Port Harcourt.

When contacted, the spokesperson for the state police command, Grace Iringe-Koko, confirmed the arrest of the pastor, saying an investigation was ongoing.

She disclosed that the clergy was arrested last Friday, pointing out that already the matter had been transferred to a court.

She said, “Yes, I can confirm the pastor’s arrest. He is in custody and under investigation. In fact, he has been charged in court.”
