Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen has been singled out as the primary driving force behind Galatasaray’s title challenge, with popular Turkish football analyst Emre Bol criticizing the team’s other players for their perceived lack of effort and devotion.
Bol said in an impassioned analysis posted on the Ekol Sports YouTube channel that Osimhen had been carrying Galatasaray practically single-handedly this season.
The Super Eagles player has been nothing short of amazing since joining Galatasaray on loan during the summer transfer window, delivering an outstanding performance that has propelled Galatasaray to the top of the Turkish League standings. Osimhen has 22 goals and six assists in 28 appearances.
“For weeks, Victor Osimhen has been carrying Galatasaray,” Bol stated unequivocally.
“The others are not showing any effect. Other players do not show half the fight of Osimhen, who is on loan.”
The Turkish pundit did not hold back in berating the rest of the squad, saying, “There is no running, no fighting, no head-butting of the kick.”
Bol believes that the Nigerian striker has established a benchmark for performance and enthusiasm that his colleagues have consistently failed to meet. His words reflect rising dissatisfaction among fans and observers who have seen Galatasaray’s progress stagnate despite Osimhen’s heroic individual performances.
Coach Okan Buruk is now under increasing pressure to find solutions and urge his players to perform with the same zeal and dedication as Osimhen.
The striker’s influence has been transformational. Since arriving in Turkey after failed transfer bids last summer, Osimhen has immediately established himself as the heartbeat of the Galatasaray attack, routinely producing performances that have kept the team’s title aspirations alive.
On numerous occasions, the striker’s goals have saved them from defeat, such as his brace in their most recent 3-3 draw with Kasimpasa.
According to Bol, the Nigerian talisman has given a level of fight and drive to his colleagues that they appear to lack. His work ethic, positioning, and persistent attitude have set him apart in a team that appears to be unduly reliant on his own ability.
While Osimhen’s achievements are unquestionably admirable, the apparent lack of the same devotion from other players may jeopardize Galatasaray’s long-term objectives, with Fenerbahce trailing the leaders by only four points.
