Popular Nollywood actor Ibrahim Chatta is bereaved following the death of his son.
The 54-year-old actor revealed the devastating news in an Instagram post on Saturday, although he did not go into detail regarding his son’s death.
He posted a photo of the late boy and said, “Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’un. Allah, You are the Knower of All Things.” Rest on, dear son, champion.”
Following the announcement, Chatta’s colleagues and fans filled the comments area with condolences.
The development comes a few days after veteran Nollywood actress Joke Silva announced the demise of her elder brother, John Olabiyi Silva, who died on August 29, 2025, at the age of 72.
The two incidents have sent the Nollywood community into sorrow, with colleagues and fans shocked by the double tragedy.
Chatta revealed in June that he had lost his first kid, a daughter, years before.
He blamed her death on financial difficulty and inadequate medical care.
Chatta said that he was forced to bury his daughter in an old wooden Coca-Cola container because he couldn’t afford a proper coffin.
