Joy has returned to the family of a former councilor of Zamfara state after his wife and 8-month-old baby were freed from the clutches of their abductors.
The former councilor of Tundunwada ward of Gusau local government was attacked in his home by the bandits on Wednesday after which his wife and baby were whisked away.
According to reports, the victims were regained their freedom on Friday after spending 48 hours in the den of the bandits.
The assault left the husband with a gunshot wound on his left arm.
“Alhamdulillah, Glory be to Allah, my wife and my baby regained freedom,” the former councilor, Babangida Haruna, posted on his Facebook page.
As at the time of filing this report, it was not clear if a ransom was paid or they were rescued by security operatives.
