First Lady Oluremi Tinubu has urged all Imo women, young and old, to vote en masse for Governor Hope Uzodimma in the governorship race on November 11.
The state capital of Owerri hosted the grand finale of the 2023 Women’s August gathering on Friday at Ndubuisi Kanu Square. Mrs. Tinubu made this appeal.
She claims that Uzodimma’s All Progressives Congress (APC) administration has done a lot for women in the state, particularly by choosing a female as his running mate.
The President’s wife, who was the special guest of honour, reaffirmed the Tinubu administration’s commitment to make Nigeria a more wealthy country that all citizens could be proud of.
The host and governor’s wife, Mrs. Chioma Uzodimma, urged women to keep advocating for harmony and peace in all walks of life in her remarks.
She emphasized that the Uzodimma-led administration will continue to place a high priority on the welfare and well-being of women in order to support their growth.
The governor, who was obviously pleased, shared his wife’s views on the advancement and empowerment of women.
The Igbo ladies hold their annual conference in August.
It provides women from all across the state with the chance to get together with their local counterparts, families, and friends to talk about issues pertaining to community development, women’s development, and issues of socioeconomic and cultural importance.
The ceremony began with a march-past by women from the state’s 27 local government units and other women’s groups.
