No fewer than seven people have been killed in an overnight Russian drone attack on Ukraine’s north-eastern city of Kharkiv, the regional head says.
According to Oleh Syniehubov, the victims included an infant and two children, ages four and seven.
Photos from the city near the Russian border show a number of residences on fire after a gasoline station was targeted.
A separate Russian drone strike in Ukraine’s southern city of Odesa injured one man, according to reports.
Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov, visibly agitated, stated that “the Russian aggressor is ruining our city.”.
“But we will overcome. We will win,” he said in a video message from the scene of the Russian attack.
He stated that 14 residences had been set on fire.
Russia’s military has made no public statements regarding the suspected strikes.
Russian President Vladimir Putin started a full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022.
