The African Democratic Congress (ADC) petition against Governor Inuwa Yahaya and his Deputy Manassah Daniel of the All Progressives Congress (APC) was dismissed by the Gombe State Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal.
The ADC was contesting Yahaya’s declaration and return due to alleged multiplicity and variances in the arrangement of names on his deputy’s certificates without accompanying affidavits, claiming their ticket was declared invalid.
The case was dismissed by the tribunal since it was a pre-election matter and the deputy had met the minimum certificate necessary to run.
The ADC also claimed instances of corruption and huge vote buying, which the court dismissed due to a lack of proof.
