Nigerians have blasted Senator Ben Murray-Bruce for his brazen disregard for transparency and accountability in the 8th assembly.

The entertainment mogul turned politicians has consistently ignored calls to give details and account for constituency projects nominated in the 2017 budget.

The senator representing Bayelsa East Senatorial District has also refused to acknowledge the requests made by transparency platform, Tracka.

The latest request by Tracka is that Senator Murray-Bruce provides the implementation status on the N70m for the processing and value addition in Brass, Nembe and Ogbia LGA, Bayelsa state.

Sen @benmurraybruce, It’s a month already you’re yet to respond to our tweet request on the N70m for the processing and value addition in Brass, Nembe and Ogbia LGA, Bayelsa state project in 2017 budget. What is the implementation status of the project? #AskQuestions pic.twitter.com/NOL44Bod5w

    — Tracka.ng (@TrackaNG) August 7, 2018

But the refusal of the self-styled Common Sense senator to reply Tracka after one month got some Nigerians angry, fueling the believe that he is not responding because the project was not executed.

Replying to the tweet by Tracka, Shogsy tweeted, “He is busy defending democracy at the NASS which is more important than accounting for project funds diverted. Hypocrites.”

Seyifunmi shared Shogsy’s sentiment and warned that he could even go one step further. “Democracy is under siege by calling him out to account for the funds collected for paper projects. He will report you to embassies so you won’t go out of Nigeria. Misplaced-priority senator😜”

Honourable Abimbola reckoned that Senator Murray-Bruce should apply the same zest with he replies direct messages. “Dear Senator, the efforts you are putting everyday to response to your twitter DM, kindly apply it to respond to the request of#TrackaNG as they are requesting for explaination of the projects you have been paid to execute.”

Ifeanyi Ifebi had a different theory. “He won’t respond. After all they are not accountable to the people but their pockets. See the way he has been screaming up and down regarding the happening at the national assembly. They don’t treat their constituents with such seriousness.”

E pluribus unum sent the Bayelsa seantor a reminder. “Unku @benmurraybruce, how far naa? @TrackaNG still dey await your response, we know you’ve bn busy saving our democracy… Well-done. It’s time for #commonsense Accountability.”

Ayodeji argued that he could be directing a new drama. “He’s busy producing dramas for PDP senate actors.”

Below are more response to Senator Murray-Bruce’s silence on accountability and transparency.

God bless you good Nigerians. I have never seen any of them answering in detail some don’t at all. Let keep vigil here. Continue retweeting to the international communities where he goes always to paint himself Black for selfish reasons.Sir we are waiting for your response

    — eze omeziribe (@EzeAsukwu) August 8, 2018

I should assume he never got a msg from u bcos it involves money and transparency, all he knows about is to call press conference for the realease of Dino and the invasion of national assembly, when did he turn to become UK, US ambassador NCIS he was threatened some of his bois

    — Aborisade Peter (@AborisadePeter1) August 8, 2018

It would be an assault on democracy if the funds for constituency projects are not released but trust me it is not a show of impunity when you choose not to respond to your electorates…. After all said and done we are know how they get the votes….

    — ELUSAKIN KAYODE (@Elukayode) August 7, 2018

The simple commonsense is accountability oya apply it here.

    — Ambassador Nurudeen (@lekan099) August 8, 2018

He know go come here now come answer question oh. But he sabi tweet democracy is under threat.

    — kelvin uwale okoro (@blackspiff) August 7, 2018

Alabi yellow is still fighting for democracy. We need to give some time.

    — akingbemi oluwaseun (@AKINGBEMIOLUWAS) August 7, 2018

    — Adam Haruna (@Slim_Puffer) August 8, 2018

Oga, pls if wisdom has failed apply common sense. It’s is claimed to be your forte.

    — Ugo Obioha (@UObioha) August 8, 2018

He is deaf now and can’t hear if it is tweeting about happenings in Nigeria he will do night vigil for it.
