The National Orientation Agency (NOA) has cautioned Nigerian youth about the uncertain nature of the next protest.
Mrs. Theresa Omaga, the state director of NOA Bauchi State, issued the warning in a statement on Friday in Bauchi State, urging the youth to shun their planned nationwide protest in August.
She recommended dialogue as a means of achieving peace and genuine engagement with the administration about problems challenging the youths.
Omaga said, “While Nigerians have a constitutional right to peaceful protest, experience has taught us that it does not always end as intended, hence the need for a rethink.
“The government is not insensitive to the plights of Nigerians and will not fail to give a listening ear to the youths if they resort to meaningful dialogue.”
Chronicle NG gathers that the planned protest by Nigerians over economic hardship is currently gaining traction in different parts of the country and has not only triggered concerns but also trailed mixed reactions.
Meanwhile, security operatives from across the country are said to be mobilising against the intended protest scheduled for August 1–10, 2024.
